Welcome to the linked websites of the Borders villages and surrounding communities of Ashkirk, Lilliesleaf and Midlem and their local Community Council. Set in beautiful countryside, in a largely agricultural area, the villages have been here for many hundreds of years and have seen many changes. In total the population of the area is around 1000, Lilliesleaf is the largest village and Midlem the smallest. The community is served by an excellent primary school in Lilliesleaf. There are many small businesses, good pubs and sporting and leisure facilities such as golf, walking, riding and fishing locally.
